Shef Scholars ACM 10 Basics Camp


1. Introduction

Shef Scholars (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy and personal information of students and their families. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you enroll in or participate in the AMC 10 Basics Camp (“the Camp”). By enrolling a student, parents/legal guardians acknowledge and agree to this Policy.

We may collect the following personal information from students and/or parents:

Provided by parents during registration:

  • Student name

  • Parent/guardian name

  • Email address(es)

  • Student’s grade

  • Payment-related details (processed securely via third-party provider)

Collected through participation:

  • Video, audio, and chat participation during live classes

  • Student work submissions (tests, exercises)

  • Feedback exchanged during the Camp

We do not collect:

  • Government identification numbers

  • Payment card information directly (handled by processors)

3. Use of Information

We use collected data for:

  • Providing access to the Camp and educational materials

  • Monitoring progress and giving feedback

  • Communicating updates, instructions, and support

  • Maintaining safety and a positive learning environment

  • Administrative purposes (e.g., attendance, enrollment verification)

4. Recordings of Live Classes

Live sessions may be recorded for:

  • Viewing by students enrolled in the Camp

  • Instructor review and training purposes

Recordings are never published publicly without additional written consent.

Parents may request removal from future recordings by contacting us; however, this may limit the student’s ability to participate in certain interactive features.

5. Sharing of Information

We only share personal information with:

  • Authorized Shef Scholars instructors and support staff

  • Secure service providers required for program delivery (video hosting, payment processing)

We do not share personal information outside the program unless:

  • Required by law

  • Express consent is provided by the parent/legal guardian

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from unauthorized access or misuse, including:

  • Secure access to class links and files

  • Limited staff access based on role

  • Use of reputable third-party platforms with encryption

We retain student data only as long as necessary for educational and administrative purposes.

7. Student Safety Online

Because the Camp includes minors, we require:

  • Parental consent for enrollment

  • Respectful conduct in all communications

  • Supervision by trained adults at all online sessions

Inappropriate behavior may result in removal from live sessions.

8. Parent Rights

Parents/legal guardians may at any time request access to, correction of, or deletion of their student’s data by contacting us.

However, deleting required information may affect continued program participation.

Our materials may contain links to third-party sites.
We are not responsible for their privacy practices or content.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect improvements or legal compliance.
If changes are made, we will notify enrolled families.
